A little about this site…

Federate my social media networking stuff. That’s the goal.

The domain andyrush.net should be the origin of all my posts. AndHeBlogs (andheblogs.andyrush.net) is my personal blog for publishing long-form posts.

MicroThoughts was my “microblog” where I made quick posts of interesting finds from the web. THIS site is now that site.

Ultimately, the aggregating of all of these sites (and the posts therein) would create one federated site/identity. That future is slowly emerging.

I’ve posted on my blog about my federated self, my federated workflow (which is now way out of date), and even posted about deleting my X account. So, progress is being made.

I’ll move forward from now (the starting point being May 10, 2025) by describing what this site does and how it works. There have been frustrations with the state of federation – it’s not any one thing. In many ways it’s mostly my impatience. The interoperability has amazing potential, but there are issues. I will say it keeps getting better, but it’s still in the alpha stages in many ways.

I’ll link to some updates below as well as a starting point about where things are today (again 5/10/25)…

Updates:

  • 9-19-26 – Updated my theme to the future “default” – Ipsum
  • 8-16-26 Long past time for an update, but this isn’t quite an update. Still working on using AndHeSocial as the main social posting site. I’m likely going to retire the Microblog soon as this site will provide that function.
  • 10-9-25 – I’m building a federated personal YouTube-like site (Andy’s Video Pub). I’ll be presenting on it at the Reclaim Open 2025 Conference in early November
  • I posted about the Andy Rush Hub (6/8/25) where I wrote about getting all my sites on the Fediverse.
  • I updated this page on June 5, 2025 to reflect some clarification on what I’m trying to accomplish.
  • Let’s Begin (5/6/25)
