Re-reading this @kin post from 2018 for no particular reason. https://apievangelist.com/2018/08/24/living-in-a-post-facebook-twitter-and-instagram-api-world/

@timmmmyboy The people I think about most at this time is the DTLT crew and when we began all of the experimenting in the blog and novel social media spaces. Twitter has only been tolerable with the use of Tweetbot to filter out all the garbage, and now when a tweet won't get sent because…

BTW folks, I'm perfectly fine with people muting me for the day, but I find the Twitter self-destruction fascinating, and sad. I very much want Mastodon to be an anti-drama space and it has been fantastic so far, and has exceeded my expectations.

@l_l_bryant Yeah, that's a pretty good example. I'll have quite a collection at the end of the day 😀

@sandwichpope@tech.lgbt Yeah, what ever happened to good ol' shenanigans LOL. Now there's Pixelfed instead of Insta!

Can anyone else recall a company just blatantly disallowing the linking to a competitor's service?

It's just incredible. Twitter has disabled linking to Mastodon accounts. I created a bit.ly link that redirects to my Mastodon account. Here's the WARNING on Twitter about a "link may be unsafe"… https://bit.ly/M4sto

@radiocron It's easy to see that Mastodon can be/is better than the bird site, I am rooting for Pixelfed to be the natural Fediverse replacement for Insta.

I just boosted my post from Pixelfed since I am now following my Pixelfed account on Mastodon. Here's my account – https://pixelfed.social/andyrush
